  1. This looks very similar to my ranch dressing recipe, which I could almost drink. Almost. I’ll have to give this a try! And since it looks like you already ate all the celery, I’d dip the carrots first. ;)

  2. Bring me some. Now.

  3. We eat (drink) ranch by the gallons around here. This dip will be perfect!

You really are my new best friend. I can’t have regular ranch because of the MSG and I have missed it! Thank you!!!

  5. I really really liked this. My husband and I thought it tastes just like ranch, but I found if you let it sit in the fridge for a while, the onion and garlic flavor becomes a bit too strong, so I halved those, and really like it that way.

  6. christine says:

Blend in 1/2 cup buttermilk(or more to your liking) to make it closer to salad dressing!!

  7. Any ideas on what to sub. instead of mayo? I have a big aversion to mayo but the rest of it sounds delish!

  8. was seriously craving ranch dressing and didn’t want to run to the store. found this recipe… very quick and tasty. thank you for the recipe!

  9. I’m Polish

  10. Tried this recipe last night, let it sit in the fridge to thicken up for a few hours. Looks and smells like ranch, but woah waaayyy too much garlic. It burnt and all we could taste was garlic for hours. Running to the store in a little bit to try it with half the garlic and onion. I recommend everyone starts with much less garlic and onion and add more if needed

  11. Made this with 1.5 cups of Greek yogurt instead if mayo/sour cream. It was delicious! Thanks!

  12. I made this last night and it’s amazing! I used it for chips!

  13. Sounds amazing! I am so making this for superbowl Sunday! Time to let hidden valley ranch stay in the hidden valley! I won’t be dipping any veggies in it though. Just chips and boneless wings (which I will also be making)

  14. I’ve been buying all the varieties of ‘little packet’ dip mixes for years. I’ve also been buying the prepared ‘stuff’ usually found in the dairy case along side the sourcreams. I finally got tired of the little packets and the ready made stuff just isn’t the taste i’m looking for. I’ve also tried the yougart based dip mixes.

Finally, i went on line and and in couple of quick minutes decided upon this really simple reciepe … I had everything in the kitchen cabinet except the sourcream which i picked up in the $ 1.00 store for 16 oz a real buy.

Mixed the stuff and let is sit overnight … i topped it the next day with a light dusting of paparika to give it a bit of a brighter color. Cutting down oin the garlic and/or onion is personal preference. I used this for simple potatoe chip dip, but next time I make it, I’m going to use it as a topping for baked potatoes.

Also, I’m going to try to make htis with all fresh ingredients and see how it holds up.

  15. Thank for sharing your recipe, it is delicious! I have been trying to avoid msg and this was the perfect alternative to the dip packets! For a little healthier alternative I made mine with plain Greek yogurt.

I wanted ranch dip last night. So, I googled and found your recipe. This is amazing! We can’t eat the regular ranch dip from the store because of the additives/ preservatives/ whatever they throw in there. But, this recipe is so easy and tastes so good! Thank you!

    • Sarah D. says:

Oh, I forgot to add- I can’t eat sour cream, so I used whole milk plain yogurt instead (stonyfield organic). =)

  19. TH: For me, that’s like asking, ‘How to you stay motivated to
breathe, eat or sleep’. In contrast to Bowflex, Total Fitness center
and other costly home gyms, for underneath $300,
that includes resistance bands, pull up bar and push up stands, you can have a ripped muscular
entire body. For starters, you are able to minimize your training time by working your entire body switching from exercise to a higher in only
