Ford Warriors in Pink

Today we are going to talk about tatas.  Or boobs.  Maybe boobies.  Some may call them chesticles (not me of course… way too classy for that). Or there is a myriad of other (not so blog friendly) names we could call them.  Most call them breasts.  Specifically we are going to talk about breast cancer.  Did you know that October is breast cancer awareness month?  You probably know someone that has been effected by this disease.  A friend, neighbor, or a beloved family member.  That is why I want to share a little about some amazing Ford Warriors in Pink and a little about my story:

Late last year a beloved family member was diagnosed with breast cancer.  While the rest of us were fearful, scared, and truly didn’t know what to do this person was a pillar of strength.  Reassuring us that she was going to be okay.  She went through every treatment and step towards recovery with such courage and grace.  Never once did she complain or act fearful.  In fact, she was constantly cheerful and positive.  I cannot imagine what she was going through on the inside but, on the outside she was a true role model.

Her cancer was removed and all the treatments were successful.  Thankfully she is cancer free today.  She recently threw a party to thank everyone for their love and support during her treatment.  When really it should have been us who threw a party for her.  She is a true hero, role model, friend, and beloved family member.  We are all so grateful to still have her in our lives for years to come.  And if I am ever faced with a difficult path; I only hope I can live up to the standard of strength she has set.  She is a true warrior.  And that is why I love the Ford Warriors in Pink program.

  • Ford’s Warriors in Pink is a program that honors breast cancer survivors who have demonstrated strength and courage is their battle with its “Model of Courage” program.
  • Ford Motor Company has donated over $115 million to the breast cancer cause in its 18 years of support.
  • When you buy Ford Warriors in Pink apparel, 100 percent of the net proceeds go directly to breast cancer awareness all year long.
  • Ford is giving shoppers a choice of breast cancer charities to support with their apparel purchase. Each are listed at checkout from      fordcares.com and listed on the Warriors in Pink Facebook page. The organizations are:
    • Susan G. Komen
    • Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation
    • Young Survival Coalition
    • The Pink Fund.

And the merchandise is adorable besides going to a good cause.  Seriously… Isn’t this tote FAB?

It’s just a little way we can support all the warriors in our lives.

***This October, Ford Warriors in Pink® has launched its first ever produced documentary, “Bang the Drum: Living Out Loud in the Face of Breast Cancer.”  The film honors 11 men and women breast cancer survivors who have demonstrated strength and courage in their battle with its “Models of Courage” program.  2012 marks Ford Motor Company’s 18th year of support for the breast cancer cause. In that time, Ford has dedicated more than $115 million to the breast cancer cause.

You too can get involved in this tremendously worthy program!  When you buy Ford Warriors in Pink apparel at fordcares.com, 100 percent of the net proceeds go directly to support breast cancer awareness all year long.
